Personal Description:

¡Hola!
My name is Alicia and I am a native tutor offering quality lessons for GCSE, A Level and IB. I currently teach AS Spanish and 4th Form in a leading Independent School and I provide support with oral and grammatical consolidation to the A Level, GCSE and IB students.

Lessons that I can offer:

- GCSE Spanish
I can offer classes for a particular skill (ie speaking or writing) or a full exam preparation. I have specific knowledge of the EDEXCEL exam board specifications (both GCSE and International GCSE).

- A Level Spanish
I have knowledge of the AQA board specifications and I am able to provide lessons for a particular skill or a full exam preparation, including all the needed cultural knowledge for the 12 topics. I can offer tuition to prepare the IRP (Independent Research Project).

- IB
I can offer tuition to improve a particular skill or a full exam preparation for any of the levels (Ab Initio, Standard or Higher Level).

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide experience teaching Spanish:

- Currently teaching AS and 4th Form in an Independent School
- Currently Spanish assistant supporting KS3, GCSE, A Level and IB in 2 leading Independent Schools
- Group lessons to adults with different skill levels, including the U3A
- 1:1 lessons to adults and children in person and online
- Teaching Spanish in Nursery settings through Phonetics

Teaching Approach:

My approach is friendly, patient and exam focused.

If the student's objective is to strengthen one of the exam skills (writing, reading or speaking) I will provide a variety of activities and mock exam exercises to ensure the desired level is reached.

If a full exam preparation is needed we will work in all areas and across all the specification content.

In both cases we will focus on grammar and key vocabulary.

Being a native Spanish speaker and having lived in Spain, Latin America and the US I am able to provide the students with in-depth cultural knowledge of the Hispanic World.
