Personal Description:
My foreign language tuition services are aimed at adults wishing to improve their communication skills in Spanish, French, Italian or German. With my help you could see a real improvement in your skills and confidence.
You can probably tell from the number of languages I tutor, speaking foreign languages is something I love doing. Helping others to learn is my dream job. I believe that anyone can learn a language and would love to help you.
Tutoring people like you is my only occupation, so you can be assured my focus is on helping people to progress in their language learning.
Teaching Experience:
I have been offering language tuition services since 2010. Since then I have helped many people to progress in their language speaking and communication skills.
I am experienced helping complete beginners as well as more advanced learners.
Most often people learn on a one-to-one basis. However, I have also helped people on a two-to-one basis, so if you wish to learn with a friend or family member, this is a possibility.
Teaching Approach:
To progress in a language, you need to understand how to use the language in an intuitive way.
Before starting tuition many people often are nervous about speaking the language, but may be able to read some or understand a limited amount of spoken language.
During our tuition sessions you will learn how the language works as well as improve your confidence.
Naturally there will be an emphasis on pronunciation and developing an accent.
Tuition would be orientated around your needs. In essence, tuition would be aimed at helping you as an individual to increase your knowledge and confidence using the language.
Learning a language is a process. Every tuition session you will look at some theory or vocabulary and there would be regular speaking practice to help you to progress.
Booking language tuition with me would give you the opportunity not only to increase your knowledge of the language, but also your confidence using the language. I always aim to exceed your expectations and to support you in your learning process.

From Dan (/5): I have had quite a few lessons with Adam now and he has been an excellent tutor. Having done a bit of German a little while ago at GCSE, Adam has been great at bringing me back up to speed. Adam explains things in a clear and understandable way, and it is great to be able to finally understand concepts which I didn't understand before. Adam's lessons are well structured and his worksheets explain new concepts very well, with good examples to help understanding. He is always punctual and reliable, and excellent at communication.

From Meg (/5): I've now had a few online sessions with Adam, which have been excellent. I'm very much a beginner, adult learner so really needed to start with the absolute basics, which Adam has been particularly good at, compared to other tutors I have used in the past. I really feel like I'm getting to grips with the building blocks of the French language for the first time. I also particularly like Adam's worksheets, which are very well thought out and structured, so you always know what subject you're learning and how this fits with previous lessons.
He is very punctual and organised around holidays and needing to move the odd session to accommodate my work commitments. I would definitely recommend Adam for any adult leaners.

From Glen (/5): Adam is a great teacher and makes you feel very relaxed whilst learning. His knowledge is excellent and his preparation for each lesson is very good. He is willing to let you take your time or push forward if you feel more confident on a particular part of your lesson. He is always available for communication and to answer any questions that I have, and the materials he provides for our sessions are clear and easy to understand. From Lewis (/5): I've been having weekly French lessons with Adam for several months now and he's been great. He's been really patient and has laid out a really simple plan where we cover everything at a speed that never feels rushed. Adam always picks up on areas that need more attention and works that into the lessons.
Originally our lessons were in person, however due to current events we've moved them online temporarily and I can highly recommend both.

From Jamie (/5): I have been lucky in finding Adam as a tutor, he quickly assessed my learning needs and created a bespoke course over the 5 months I had. I am now off to Bremen to take up a Director's post confident I can deal with cope with everyday German. I feel he has accelerated me from complete beginner to close to intermediate level in the time he has been tutoring me. I would highly recommend him for anyone wishing to learn a language.

Having started with practically no understanding of Spanish, Adam has helped me gain both confidence and knowledge in key areas of the language and has done so in a thoroughly helpful and supportive manner. His lesson preparations are structured entirely to cater for my personal ability and he is always flexible concerning the lesson content. Furthermore, Adam’s patience combined with the friendly and relaxed atmosphere he creates in lessons, has ensured that I am making excellent progress!

From Barbara (/5): I find the lessons very good. Each lesson has a topic and is not to much at once. Homework is ok but I find it hard for it to sink in, but practice makes perfect. I feel at ease with the lesson and look forward to learning more.

I very much appreciated his informal but focussed teaching method and his teaching area was well set out with a whiteboard for questions and explanations. I would certainly return to Adam for further lessons if the opportunity arose.

He provides very good course notes and structures the tuition to ensure that learning a new language is not quite so daunting as we had envisaged.
