Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Marlé, and I’m a third-year BEd Foundation Phase Education student at Stellenbosch University. I’ve completed my TEFL course and have been tutoring learners in English for the past two years. I love working with young learners and believe that every child has the potential to succeed with the right support and encouragement.

Tutoring Experience:

I have two years of experience as an online TEFL tutor, working with young learners to build their English skills in a fun and engaging way. This has given me valuable insight into adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and keeping students motivated in a virtual setting. In addition, I have completed three university-assessed teaching practicums as part of my BEd Foundation Phase degree, where I planned and delivered lessons in real classroom environments. These experiences have helped me grow in confidence as a teacher and have deepened my understanding of classroom management, curriculum requirements, and how to support learners effectively.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is patient, positive, and creative. I aim to create a space where learners feel confident enough to make mistakes and grow from them. Nothing compares to the joy of seeing that “aha!” moment when something clicks, and I’m passionate about helping children experience that sense of achievement.
