Personal Description:
A passionate, highly-experienced teacher who sees the best in people, always choosing to look at the brighter side of everything. I am very patient with my students and make them feel that I am really here to help and give my undivided attention during our tutoring sessions.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 20 years of teaching experience. The students whom I've handled over the years include primary, secondary, university, graduate and even secondary school teachers. I've already conducted more than 1000 tutorial sessions (online and face-to-face) across different nationalities, and this experience made me grow better not only as a professional teacher, but most importantly as a person.
Tutoring Approach:
I firmly believe that each person has a unique learning style and a skill in them waiting to be nurtured. My general tutorial approach is by first making the student appreciate and understand a certain topic through specific examples/simple analogies, ensuring a non-threatening atmosphere where he/she feels that any question is very much welcome. Then asking questions/giving hints that will eventually lead to the solution to the problem. I customize my teaching methodology whenever necessary so that it will tailor-fit the learning needs of each student.

She was also helpful in preparing for a resubmission of an internal assessment I failed due to having trouble understanding the material. Maria's one-on-one discussions have helped me understood the material better, and thanks to her I was able to gain a Merit on the resubmission.
Overall, Maria is a good tutor for when you need help on comprehending material and for passing internals
