Personal Description:
I am a University of Melbourne student studying in my first-year in Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, English, Philosophy, Sociology). I finished International Baccalaureate curriculum in 2018 and received my diploma. I did level 1 NCEA subjects: Science (Merit), History and Geography (Merit) in Year 10, and in Year 11 I completed: Level 2 earth and space Science (Merit), Level 2 Science (Merit), Level 2 History (Merit), Level 1 English (Excellence), Level 1 Mandarin (Excellence), Level 1 Maths (Merit), Level 1 Fine arts (Merit).
Tutoring Experience:
I have tutored Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 mathematics (MYP) standard.
I have tutored Mandarin at MYP (middle school) years standard.
I have tutored English at Year 7, 8, 9, 10 (MYP) standard and Level 1 English standard.
I have tutored NCEA level 1 Mandarin and English.
Tutoring Approach:
I love working with different students and teaching them how to approach issues they have, using personalized and suitable methods to best enable their ability to excel or improve in the subject/s.
I see what work the students are doing then proceed to help them with aspects of their homework they are unsure of. Using the knowledge that I have gotten through observing their working styles and extent of knowledge in that subject, I create worksheets, individually crafted to suit each child's learning capabilities and learning styles. They then hand in that worksheet the next time I see them and I see what has been done correctly/incorrectly and why.
I have my lessons structured and planned out to get the most out of each session.
