Personal Description:

Most schools have a one-size-fits-all approach to education, but I believe that instruction works best when it is tailored to the specific needs of the student. I'm interested in tutoring so that I can provide this type of personalized attention to students who need it to pursue educational success. I can teach several different subjects including college essays and high school English. I am particularly interested in helping students develop their written communication skills because they can be applied in subjects such as math and science in addition to English.

Tutoring Experience:

I was an immigrant who taught herself English at the age of six, so I understand what it's like to not grasp what somebody is saying. I also graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Microbiology and Immunology, so I know that hard work pays off academically.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach concepts step-by-step until I feel that the student has the gist of it, then I'll ask them to explain how to do it to me. If they can do that, I've done my job as an English tutor.
