This is how 2 referees rated Williams:
I am currently a grade 10 student in the International Baccalaureate program at my school. I have a keen and admirable passion for all things within the field of mathematics. In the future, I see myself as a math teacher helping out students. I always have been very interested in becoming a teacher because I am very organized, responsible, dependable and motivated to help make everyone around me better. In life I want everyone to be successful and I will contribute to that by helping peers and fellow tutees. I know I can incorporate my innovative, imaginative and creative teaching styles to regular lessons to give them a spark. I really enjoy fostering and nurturing the youth to reach their optimal potential for it is a passion of mine. Some accomplishments that I have received were the Pascal, Gauss (Gr.7 and Gr.8) and Beaver Computing Competition scores of distinction, scoring the best within the school and very high municipally, provincially and nationally. Those are just some tidbits about myself but if you decide to choose me as a tutor, you will get to know me better and I will look forward to meeting you and forming a close relationship.
For my tutoring/teaching experience, I have worked at Kumon for around a year but I have also volunteered there for around a year as well. Apart from that, I am an in-school tutor at my school, helping fellow peers with their work and assessing difficulties within their learning strategies. Plus, I am a core member of a local student-tutoring community and organization which helps at risk kids in the community get better grades to reach their maximum potential. Those are some fo my tutoring/teaching experiences, I hope to learn more as a tutor here and broaden my teaching experiences.
As a student, I understand the importance of learning and developing a larger knowledge base. As a tutor, I would like to gather all that I have learned from skills to methods and apply it to my teaching method to help enhance and facilitate each student's learning experience. In the 21st century, it is important for all of us to really deepen our communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity and as a tutor, I use these skills not only to better the teaching experience with students but to also make these students into better tutors, learners, teachers and integral people in communities. Not only will I prepare these students for math, but I will also be preparing them for life and the real-world applications of these skills. Apart from that my tutoring style is a hybrid between the regular school teaching with tasks, transmissions, transactions and transformations along with a more personalized teaching style. I believe my variety is a key tool in ensuring success for almost every type of learner. Those are my approaches to tutoring and if you decide to choose me as a tutor, you will understand my techniques and approaches at a finer level.
