Personal Description:

I have a Master's Degree on the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Toronto's Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology and received my Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts and Science, specializing in Philosophy with minor concentrations in the History and Philosophy of Science and Bioethics. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at major international conferences in North America and Europe. On top of my academic qualifications I have a decade of private sector experience in hospitality, half of which I have spent in management-level positions.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been on the teaching team for nearly a dozen university-level courses at the University of Toronto in the Department of Philosophy and the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. Courses for which I have been a tutorial leader include Introduction to the History and Philosophy of Science (Multiple Appointments), Introductory Philosophy of Science (Multiple Appointments), Philosophy for Scientists, and Bioethics (Multiple Appointments).

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is closely tailored to the needs of my students. Most of the students I've taught at the post-secondary level have been non-specialists looking to expand their knowledge or satisfy breadth requirements, so my focus is keeping students engaged and helping them learn on their own terms, I belive that my students are fundamentally smart kids and my teaching style is carefully honed to respect them and their innate capacity for learning and growth.
