Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic scientist who enjoys teaching students in many science disciplines - biology, chemistry and physics. With a PhD in Molecular Biology and over 5 years of teaching experiences in higher education, I am very experienced in teaching and love to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject. I am an award winning researcher, published 10+ scientific journal articles, award winning teacher and invited speaker to several university based courses. I prefer one-on-one teaching in order to tailor material to each student's learning needs and style.
Tutoring Experience:
Over 5 years of experience in teaching biology, chemistry and physics to students ranging in ages 15-30 years old. Award winning teacher - nominated by students. Majority of my teaching experience over the last 3 years have been in large class settings (20-30 students), but I do enjoy one-on-one session to tailor material to students needs.
Tutoring Approach:
First, I like to get to know the student's general understanding of the material through a small quiz. Identify which approaches to teaching are ideal for the student's learning. From there I build curriculum based on the student's needs and in-line with the course requirements. From there, I deliver quizzes to evaluate student's learning.
I am also available for short-term tutoring for upcoming midterms and exams.
