Personal Description:

If you're trying to learn English either for work or personal reasons, and despite how much you’ve studied , you still can't express yourself clearly, then you're in the right place. If you want a goal oriented, activity filled English lesson, or if there is a level you can't reach no matter how much time you spend and study, you're in the right place. If you're tired of being scared when communicating and want to increase your confidence when speaking English you’re in the right place.

My name is Venicia, I believe that learning English is not something that should be hard and boring, however, people tend to go about learning English in the wrong way and it takes much longer then it should to learn the language. As a result of my love for learning languages, I am currently majoring in English and cultural studies at McMaster University.

Tutoring Experience:

Student teacher: 2.5 years (2018-2020)
I am majoring in English and cultural studies, and I am TESOL certified (teachers of English to speakers of other languages) as a result I will be able to teach you in a professional manner so that you can feel comfortable and be more eager to learn English.

Tutoring Approach:

As your tutor I will focus on helping you acquire English which is done through interaction with the world around us (which is how children become native speakers, or learn their first language), however in order to speed up your learning process we will also focus on learning which is conscious learning (deliberate, intentional), you will understand why you speak the way you do which will allow you to speak with confidence and without hesitation because you are certain of what you are saying.
