Personal Description:

I am currently a third year student at Trent University taking Forensic Science and I completed high school with honours; 85%+. I took advanced placement chemistry through to grade 12, and also completed advanced placement math, and physics through to grade 11. Teaching comes very naturally to me as I am very patient and outgoing. I love education and enjoy helping other succeed.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had several experiences with teaching as I was a swim coach for Cascade Swim Club, and I have volunteered at my local library helping children understand computer and internet safety, as well as teaching the basics of typing and using computer programs. I often help my younger brother, who is now in grade 10, with his school work. I have helped him format essays for english and social studies, as well as help him understand concepts in math, and subjects of science.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that repetition helps a lot with understanding a concept. I always get my students to repeat what they are trying to learn many times in different scenarios. This engrains it into their brain how to correctly accomplish the task When I explain a topic, or concept, I understand that some people may not understand it the same way as everyone else, so I make it a point to explain concepts in more than one way, using many different examples. Writing things out on paper also has proven to help the brain remember the task.
