Personal Description:

Hello there! I am a McMaster and Queens University graduate with an Honours degree and English and my Bachelor of Education! I am an Ontario certified teacher (OCT) who specializes in working with students between grades 7-12.

I grew up in an Eastern European household that placed great value on education and making sure that I put my all into anything that I put my mind to. I am hardworking, open to communication and have a grasp on the difficulties that students go through during their adolescent years.

Tutoring Experience:

I had the honour of teaching in the United Kingdom for a year, I taught ages between 11-15. For my older grade groups, I read through Lord of the Flies and Macbeth and helped them prepare for the GCSE (an equivalent to the literacy test in Ontario, they cannot go beyond Year 10 without passing the test). I worked with them on analyzing texts, exploring quotes, themes, characters and how to set up an essay to ensure they can get the highest grade possible.

With my lower grade students, we spent time learning how to actually read a text as a form of education and connect it to the world around us.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an easygoing individual who allows his students the chance to breathe and helps them understand that we all go through problems when trying to comprehend something that is unfamiliar to us. It is an uphill battle to gain the ability to grasp something foreign to us, but together, we will be able to tackle anything.

My motto is "no student left behind", I never believe that I can move onto something without making sure every student understands how to do something. I would stay after school with students, during breaks and lunch. I am always available for a call or email to help them with anything that they need.
