Personal Description:

My name is Tamara and I have been teaching ESL for about six years. After obtaining my MA in History, I went on to get my CELTA certificate to teach English. I have taught both children and adults alike and have learnt to adapt to students' needs and interests. I am currently teaching online.

I also have a passion for history and English literature and have tutored university students in the past.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught children in classroom settings at a Chinese community school in Montreal called Jia Hua. I am currently teaching both adults and children online using either Zoom, Skype or Microsoft teams. I have taught lawyers, managers and trainers to help develop their English language proficiency to help get promoted within the workforce. **Removed By Admin**

I have also tutored history and English literature students and also have experience marking university papers.

Tutoring Approach:

I focus on a communicative approach in which I have students engage in various speaking activities. I have my students apply the grammar and vocabulary learnt through role-play activities such as business meetings, negotiating, persuading, introductions, and so much more. Feedback is always provided and I always focus on the students' needs and interests. The goal is to have fun, gain some confidence while improving at the same time.
