Personal Description:

As a history tutor, I find fulfillment in helping students get to that "light bulb" moment when their understanding of a particular concept finally clicks. As a teacher, I work with students every day in the classroom setting but I am well aware that some need additional help or motivation outside of the classroom to excel academically and I am more than happy to meet that need. I have experience teaching dual credit AP U.S. History and AP World History, as well as World Geography and World Cultures.

Tutoring Experience:

I completed my undergraduate education my earning a bachelor's degree in History. I then went on to complete a master's degree in History. As a certified teacher and former journalist, I have strong writing and editing skills which I share with my students. This work experience has also allowed me to help my students connect with historical themes through current events.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student can learn and achieve. Every student learns differently so I try to differentiate how I present lessons so that various learning styles are incorporated.
