Personal Description:

My name is Stefan .
I have been a private tutor for over ten years and am well versed in multiple subjects a**Contact Detail Removed**mentary, secondary, as well as post-secondary levels. My specialties are History/Social Studies, Mathematics, Science/Physics, Music, and English.
My students are successful because I put an emphasis on creating a comfortable relationship with them to encourage questions and discussion. I find my students are more engaged in their studies if they are able to understand the background of the information they are learning rather than simply memorizing facts. To facilitate this I tailor my style and method to each student relative to their learning level and requirements.

Tutoring Experience:

As well as tutoring privately since the year 2000, I also spent some time as an Assistant Teacher at Collingwood School in West Vancouver. There my focus was on single student or group tutelage of those with more specific requirements.
I have a degree in History from Simon Fraser University and previous to receiving my Bachelor of Arts I studied Mathematics and Physics at The University of Manitoba.
I also posses a Level 10 in Piano as well as ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring and teaching works best in an environment that encourages discussion. I integrate this philosophy as an essential part of my tutoring style; creating a comfortable environment where my students feel open to ask questions and learn through dialogue.
Dependant upon the requirements of each student, I also believe that information is best taught within a context; with a more in-depth background of the subject often endowing the student with a fuller understanding of the information.
