Personal Description:

I'm a doctoral candidate studying science education through New York University, currently living in Toronto while I conduct my research. I received the Governor General's award in high school and then completed an honors bachelor and a master's degree in Medical Biophysics.
My current research focuses on teaching physics and biology to high school students.

Tutoring Experience:

I've tutored for over 10 years and taught high school science and math in Toronto schools for 5 years. During that time, I worked extensively with students who have IEPs.

Tutoring Approach:

I am incredibly patient and work well with a range of people - from those who may not feel they are strong in science and math to those who love the subject areas and are looking to challenge themselves. I have access to lots of resources through NYU and my previous teaching and tutoring experience, and am well versed in a variety of teaching approaches.
I like to structure my tutoring sessions around each students' individual needs - be it a conceptual approach, more visually based, or relating the material to their own lives.
When asked for homework help, I ensure that students leave with a good grasp of the material as well as meeting course deadlines.
I firmly believe everyone can be successful in math and science and work with students to recognize their full potential.
