Personal Description:

I am an expert instructor who knows the necessary to support students as they learn the process of writing. I work 1-on-1 with them to connect writing with the topics or activities that they care about, which can make it easier for them to make strides towards their writing goals. I can offer constructive feedback on their writing assignments, as well as support as they tackle college essays.

Tutoring Experience:

For more than 25 years, I have offered English tutoring to students. I have worked as an assistant professor since 2004. I am the current Interim Chair of the Department of English and Foreign Languages. I am a professional writer as well as an expert in composition and creative writing. I earned my bachelor's and master's of arts in English and also obtained an MFA in Creative Writing.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, my lessons revolve around the student. I work at their natural learning pace, allowing them to build their skills comfortably and effectively. I incorporate independent assignments for between study sessions, as well as games to help them improve their understanding of concepts, such as grammar and syntax.
