Personal Description:

Hello Everyone !

Myself Shelly , I have an educational background of Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science. I worked as a software programmer for 3 years before switching into teaching profile. What makes me different than other teacher as I am accessible, enthusiastic and caring towards student needs. The unique element in my teaching is the two-way communication that I develop with my students. In my class, you will see that the students are freely expressing their opinions about a subject and are debating openly. Even the students who are shy or academically weak find it easier to express themselves.
CONFIDENCE is the key - When you truly believe you can create what you envision, when you're not afraid of the obstacles, that confidence will automatically make you stand out from the rest.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a total of 12 years of experience in subjects like MATHS , READING and SPOKEN ENGLISH , SCIENCE (BIOLOGY , CHEMISTRY , PHYSICS ) , SOCIAL STUDIES,

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE (MS WORD , MS EXCEL , MS POWERPOINT , PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES like C, JAVA and MANUAL TESTING and AUTOMATION

TESTING using SELENIUM , DATABASES like ORACLE .

I have worked with Elementary , middle and high school students in US , Canada . I am very well versed with educational curriculums of both the countries .

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is that I tailor my tuition to the needs of the student. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the student so desires.
My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorize things Nor do I do the students’ homework for them!
