Personal Description:

Hello, I'm Ruhana. I work as a teacher in Toronto. During my free time, I love staying active through workouts, exploring the outdoors, and cherishing moments with my dear friends and family.

Tutoring Experience:

I have my OCT and I am currently an occasional teacher at TDSB.

I have mainly tutored former/current students as well as children of friends and family.

Tutoring Approach:

I engage in multiple methods and I continue to learn and grow as an educator. However I have recently been engaging with two main methods and they are as follows:

Differentiated learning which is the idea that educators learn how their student learn. This allows the educator to understand how they can adjust their material to adhere to the needs of the student.

The second method I utilize is universal design for learning this is a teaching approach that works to ensure that the student has the supports they need. This means ensuring that they are able to learn in their own unique way.

My overall teaching pedagogy is respect. While this may seem “hippy dippy” i believe that students can only grow and learn in spaces and from people who respect them and their abilities.
