This is how 2 referees rated Robert:
I graduated university and continued my education in environmental studies. I worked as an Environmental Consultant for 5 years before returning to school to obtain my teaching diploma. It didn't take long to realize that this change of careers was one of the best decisions of my life as I quickly discovered my love of and ability to teach and help children succeed.
I have been a certified teacher for 15 years. During this time I have also had the opportunity to tutor students as well as working as a home study instructor for children not able to function in a traditional classroom setting.
Math is a subject that we use and need on a daily basis. A greater understanding of it helps us throughout our lives. I have always loved teaching math as it is one of the few subjects that allow children to work and understand the material in many different ways. Not every child learns in the same way and problems arise when they are taught primarily from textbooks alone. I explain the material in a variety of ways that helps ensure the child understands the material. Seeing the "light bulb" turn on as the subject material finally starts to make sense is always amazing to witness and this understanding is the biggest benefit to learning in a 1-on-1 environment.
