Personal Description:

Greeting! My name is Riya (Ree-ya) and I am delighted to be able to share somethings about myself!

I come from a family of five, and as being the oldest of three — I have always been responsible in educating my siblings to the best of my ability. Thus enhancing my own skills and knowledge. With time, I eventually grew an interest in story writing, and began writing books, eventually scoring a contract with an e-book publishing site. Along the way, I thought, "wouldn't it be nice to be able to impact others through my knowledge? Preparing them in a way which will help them both practically and positively?" And from there, I began creating plans, lesson plans, teaching plans — you get the idea.

Whether you're a beginner, or intermediate and so forth — I will welcome everyone with an open mind and a heart that's eager to teach and learn through my own experiences.

Tutoring Experience:

I started with tutoring my own siblings, even before they started high school, as a way to prepare, and eventually started tutoring the youth within my own neighborhood. I am 20 years old, and have been tutoring for about 6-7 years now. I am in full control of my lesson plans, as well as strategies that will aid the student I'm tutoring according to their needs, strengths, and weaknesses. Tutoring Approach:

I am someone who will, foremost, take a session or two to get to know the person I'm tutoring, which in turn will help me in creating strategies that will cater to the persons needs, strengths, and weaknesses. I acknowledge the fact that everyone has weaknesses, especially mentally and specifically when it comes to learning — so I tend to alter my lesson plans too if needed. Because weaknesses can becomes ones strength with patience and time, and I intend to take that very seriously.

I will never push or "force" information into the person in a way which can hinder their thinking process, I am very much against that. Instead, I will take my time in helping them absorb that info, all of those teachings. I am nothing but patient when it comes to teaching, because as someone who couldn't have that — I want to give tenfold of that patience through my teachings.
