Personal Description:

I am a high school chemistry teacher who clearly has a passion for education and the sciences. I currently reside and work in British Columbia but have also taught and tutored in Ontario, and Alberta working with provincial curriculums, and the International Baccalaureate programs.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring students for the last 13 years in subjects ranging from elementary Math to second year Organic chemistry in University. I hold a BSc. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of British Columbia and an education degree from the University of Victoria. During my degrees I worked as a Chemistry lab instructor at both Universities. More recently I have been working as a high-school Chemistry teacher for the last 9 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer interactive on-line sessions that are more than just a face-to-face conversation. I have the tools for you to see solutions in real-time to problems as well as draw and model as necessary.

My approach to tutoring is much like my approach to teaching. Make sure the students understand the objectives of what they must be able to perform/do. Then discuss and alleviate misconceptions and provide practice where appropriate.

Tutoring will be completed in conjunction with the expectations of a students classroom/course/instructor and for grade school students, considerations of the Educational Documents (e.g. Provincial Curriculum Documents) that are relevant for your locale will be used to guide general instruction.
