Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Rachel and I am an OCT-qualified teacher in Ontario! I have a passion for working with students to reach their academic goals I have extensive knowledge of the grade 4-6 English curriculum. I am also qualified to teach English in grades 7-12. Some of my hobbies are scrapbooking, reading, and cooking! I am looking forward to working with you!

Tutoring Experience:

-Ontario College of Teachers certification (September 2021).
-2.5 years with the Ottawa Catholic School Board teaching grades 4-6 (Math, Language, Science, Social Studies).
-Special Education Part 1 Additional Qualification certification, December 2021.
-Experience tutoring with various tutoring centres in Ottawa for 10+ years (Kumon, Scholar's, Oxford).

Tutoring Approach:

-I like to start where the student is at and build from there. Ensuring the rectification of any learning gaps prior to progressing to more advanced content is essential.
-I am available for homework help or to work on specific skills.
-I have thorough knowledge of the grade 4-6 math and language curriculum, and I have an understanding of the concepts and skills needed for success in those grades.
