Personal Description:
Hello! I am a teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board looking to do some tutoring during July and August. I currently work at a French Immersion school where I teach English, French, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Visual Arts to a class of Grade 2 and 3 students. I especially love teaching kids how to read, write, speak, and understand languages!
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught a variety of different classes over the past few years! In French Immersion, I have taught Grades 2-7 in English, French, Math, Music, Science, Social Studies, and Visual Arts. I have also taught Grade 4 Core French as well as Grades 1-8 Music, Drama, and Dance in an English elementary school. In high school, I have taught Grades 9-12 Music and French.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that tutoring should always begin with diagnostic assessments to see what the child already knows. After that, I will use a variety of strategies including direct instruction, modelled practice, deliberate practice, game play, and exit tickets to best assist the child in learning and consolidating information. I will also be transparent with parents so that they know exactly what we are working on in tutoring and how their child is progressing. I look forward to working with your child!
