Personal Description:

I really enjoy working with students who have learning disabilities or face special challenges. The fact that they have more adversity to overcome really increases the satisfaction I get from helping them. I've been a learning disabilities tutor for ten years now, and I really enjoy figuring which individual approach I can use for each of my students to help them overcome their difficulties.

Tutoring Experience:

After graduating from college, I have been working with special; needs students in both a formal classroom setting and also through individual tutoring. I believe strongly in treating my students with respect and taking the time to prepare my lessons for them carefully. I know that I can make a difference if I take the right approach.

Tutoring Approach:

First I like to identify why my student is struggling. Knowing is half the battle. Then, once I have identified trouble areas we can work on them. I also like to convince my students of the importance of education and what it can do for them because they need to be motivated in order to succeed.
