Personal Description:

I think a great English tutor starts with a great relationship. I build a rapport with my students first thing so they know they can trust me and make mistakes without judgment. I tutor a variety of English subjects including College English, American Literature, Medieval Literature, English grammar and syntax, and World Literature, among others.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in Honors English with a minor in Mathematics. I attended public schools growing up and I understand that there can be a big gap between educator and student. I bridge that gap by using a relational teaching style with my students.

Tutoring Approach:

The best teachers and tutors I've known have dealt with each student on a personal level. Therefore, I begin studying with each student with a warm introduction where we talk about our backgrounds, including our families, educational experiences, and comfort level. I then shift the focus to the subject matter so I can gauge where the student is and begin the tutoring from there.
