Personal Description:

I am an ambitious, hard-working, and organized student at McMaster University studying Biochemistry with an extreme passion for science, teaching, and volunteering. With my profound love of learning, I enjoy filling my time reading books that strengthen my knowledge, specifically, books on health, science, and nutrition. I also love being in nature, hiking, exercising and playing sports, my favorite sports are volleyball and rugby.

Tutoring Experience:

My love for teaching began three years ago when I started voluntarily tutoring my peers in grade 11 chemistry and grade 12 biology. I later went on to start a personal tutoring business in which I provided one-on-one, in-person tutoring to a student completing grade 12 chemistry online. Additionally, I experienced teaching children aged 4-7 reading and writing in English during a volunteer project in Peru in 2018, and from 2018-2019 I tutored both a ten-year-old girl and twelve-year-old boy in math and English weekly.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe a successful student-teacher relationship begins with respect, comfort, and trust. Therefore, I work very hard to establish a strong connection with my tutees in which they feel respected and have the trust in me to truthfully express when they do not understand a concept. I always adjust to the tutee's learning style and approach areas of challenge for the student with patience, thoughtfulness, and positive motivation. My love of science and appreciation for the opportunity of knowledge drives me to help students have the most uplifting and effective learning experience possible, in which my passion and enthusiasm can spark their love of learning and confidence in the classroom.
