Personal Description:

I am a Professor of Law at a highly recognized law school in Canada. I also practised law for over twenty-five years. I am the Editor-in-Chief of an international peer reviewed law review and the Chair of a nationally recognized committee dedicated to law reform in Canada. I love teaching and I see the opportunity to being a tutor as an extension of my university teaching experience. I am pleased to teach secondary school students, college or university students and adults seeking continuing knowledge in the many areas of law I have the privilege to teach. I specialize in teaching first year law students on how to properly do legal research and writing.

Tutoring Experience:

I taught several topics in law at the university level over the last ten years. The topics include Interpersonal Dispute Resolution, Sentencing and Penal Policy in Canada, Criminal Law & Procedure, Introduction to Private Law, Indigenous Law and Policy, Sports Law, Treaty Relations, Tort Law, Environmental Law, Property Law, Immigration Law and Policy in Canada, Contract Law, Labour Law, Administrative Law, Commercial Law, Cybercrime and my specialty Wrongful Convictions and Miscarriages of Justice. I was regularly nominated for Awards of Teaching Excellence and my student’s evaluations were overwhelming in the very good to outstanding categories.

Tutoring Approach:

I am easy going and very easy to get to know and interact with. My goal is for my students to be comfortable and for them to know that I respect them and am here to support their goals. Learning is a co-operative exercise. We will set realistic and achievable tasks in my classes and I will continuously seek feedback from my students so that we are on the same page at all times.
