Information About MelanieMontreal tutor
I am a currently enrolled in the MATL (Masters of arts in teaching and learning) at McGill University and have formal experience teaching high school science and chemistry. I did my undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Science and Technology Education at McGill University and my DEC in Science and Technology. Throughout my studies, I have set up peer tutoring programs in CEJEP and have tutored elementary and high school aged students for the past 7 years. After completing my Masters, my goal is to become a permanent high school teacher focusing on secondary 4 and 5 science students!
My undergraduate specialization was in Plant Sciences so I am a big plant nerd,
I have experience both as a tutor and as a high school teacher. I have 7 years experience tutoring elementary, high school and CEJEP/University aged students in Math, Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. I have formal experience teaching high school science for both advanced and regular secondary 4 and chemistry for secondary 5 students.
My approach to tutoring starts with meeting the student at their level. I believe that some students learn more efficiently in a one on one setting and I strive to provide a personalized experience so that they achieve success. Giving students the opportunity to express themselves, ask questions and make mistakes in a comfortable environment free from judgement will allow them to learn through their own curiosity and intelligence.
