Personal Description:

Hello!

I am a 30 year old university graduate located in Midland, Ontario. I have 3 children (aged 6,2, and 1). I graduated from Laurentian University with a BA in Psychology and am currently going to Lakehead University to get more teachables. I will be applying to teachers college in the fall and want to get started my teaching career.

Tutoring Experience:

I have volunteered for Big Brother Big Sisters and with the Kiwanis Club. I have also been involved in Boy Scouts and am hoping to get my 6 year old into Cub Scouts when the pandemic ends.

I currently help teach my oldest son who is in grade 1. He has dyslexia and we are working hard on finding other learning strategies for him.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring would involve many methods of learning and retention. I make sure not to pressure the student and instead try to offer a variety of methods and tools that can help the student learn. I would want to talk one on one with my student to ascertain what challenges he or she is facing and try to develop a strategy to help them grow and succeed.
