Personal Description:

I was born in Canada and graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of English, and have a genuine passion for education. I enjoy helping my students improve and make progress. I'm an open and friendly person, and will make your experience both fun and instructive at the same time.

Tutoring Experience:

[ADULTS]
I have wide-ranging experience working with adults on their communication skills. During my undergrad I tutored ESL students by assisting them with their daily conversation and academic writing. After graduating I obtained a CELTA certificate to further improve my teaching abilities when helping adults. Lastly, the communication skills I gained through my English BA and the Research Assistant position I held uniquely position me to help you with academic and professional writing, research, and schoolwork.

[CHILDREN]
I have a strong passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential. I love making fun and engaging lessons that will motivate my students and teach them to love learning. I have extensive experience working with kids. After graduating I taught English for two years in Thailand with children aged 4-12. After returning to Canada I volunteered at the EarlyON program at a local community centre with kids aged 3-4, and currently volunteer at the Toronto Public Library's "Leading to Reading" program.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach each student with care and consideration because everyone's interests, abilities, and needs are different - this means I adapt my lessons and teaching methods to suit you. What is central to all my lessons is that they will be engaging, goal-driven, and provide helpful feedback.

I believe building a safe space for students to feel comfortable enough to participate is key. I admire my students for taking the initiative to improve, and so I try my best to make you feel welcome.
