Personal Description:

I've enjoyed tutoring since I was an undergraduate. Teaching as a chemistry tutor lets me express my passion for helping others, and I plan to keep education as part of my life. In college, I was recognized with a "Distinguished Service Award" on three occasions for my work as a tutor. I've primarily helped students with general and organic chemistry.

Tutoring Experience:

As an undergraduate, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and worked in the chemistry tutoring center for two years. In addition to helping in chemistry class topics, I can focus on AP Chemistry topics and preparing for the MCAT Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems section.

Tutoring Approach:

First, I make sure the student understands the fundamentals, and then build on that information with new problems. I believe engagement and motivation are key to helping the student enjoy learning in a stress-free environment. When a student struggles in a topic, I take my time going over it, and help connect the subject with real life.
