Personal Description:

I am an Irish Elementary school teacher living in Vancouver. I have 8 years experience teaching and have worked at Assistant Principal level. I love music, art and reading. I believe every child has the ability to succeed, they often just don't know access to use the tools they were given.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a classroom teacher who has taught Primary level for the last 2 years in Canada. Previous to that I worked for 5 years in Ireland teaching. During the summers I offered Summer tuition with children with Autism and additional needs. I also have experience in running and coordinating Summer camps.
I have experience working primarily with 5-10 year old's I am passionate about enabling children with the tools they need to succeed in literacy and numeracy as these are often the areas which are problematic for young children.

Tutoring Approach:

I will begin with assessment and ascertain the areas in which your child needs help. I will provide learning materials specific to your child's needs and help to develop the skills they are struggling with. I believe in making learning interesting and fun and I will make learning as engaging and relevant to your child and their interests. Children need a differentiated program tailored to their needs. They also need to be provided with strategies to succeed and the skills to develop good learning habits. I provide a well round education to every child that I teach.
