Personal Description:

An undergraduate in Mathematics and a graduate in Math and Statistics with B.Ed… I am a Math teacher who is absolutely loved by all the students! Currently I am doing M.Ed. from one of the university of Halifax so as to explore new and improved teaching practices and making a greater impact on my students' learning.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a Math teacher with 20 years of experience of teaching grades from 5-10 in some of the well known schools in India and now in Halifax (NS). Currently, I am teaching Math in one of the junior high schools in Halifax since the last 2 years. I have done online tutoring also for one of the tutoring companies in Ontario. I am well aware of the Math curriculum of Canada, so I have developed the course material as well in the topics of Algebra, Statistics, Number System.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an absolute passion for teaching and love for numbers. Math is a subject which majority of students are scared of. My vision is to eliminate this fear and to inculcate the understanding of numeric world. Instead of burdening the mind with pre-devised formulas, I emphasize on the 'Why' of the underlying concept. Connecting Math to daily life, using visuals to enforce the understanding of the fundamentals and then take it one level higher by giving practice questions, key notes, quizzes, timed tests, evaluating these to make sure that the child has comprehended the subject matter is my approach in teaching.
