Personal Description:

My name is Makenna, I am currently a registered Social Service Worker as well as a registered Early Childhood Educator. I attended Seneca College for 3 years to study Social Service Work with children, youth and teens, and I am currently in my last year at York University for Human Resources Management. In 2013, I founded my own anti-bullying non-profit organization that is registered across all of Canada that helps raise awareness on mental health and the long lasting negative effects of bullying by providing free anti-bullying assemblies and interactive activities to students from Grade 3 and up across Canada.

Teaching Assistant – April 2017-Present

-Working with one-on-one support with a child in Grade 4 with behavioural disorders such as ODD & ADHD as
well as autism.
-Was able to get a great understanding of different personalities and how to have other children associate and interact
with other children with disabilities

- Interacting one on one with students ages 4 year to 12 years to gather different learning needs and different
personalities.

Tutoring Approach:

I always acknowledge children's needs, strengths and weaknesses, I prepare a test-preparation for each student before tests and I always make sure that students enjoy the lessons made to their needs as well as a strong personal connection with their tutors, who mentor and motivate them to reach their full potential.
