Personal Description:
An experienced tutor, teacher, and communicator with high academic achievements and a patient and supportive approach to tutoring.
I have taught undergraduate students in Communication Studies and worked as a one-to-one ESL tutor for children ages 5-16. I also recently worked in London, UK, as a team trainer and manager for high school and university-aged employees.
I received my Masters degree from the University of Toronto and my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. As a straight-A student who received Honours with High Distinction, I would love to help others improve their writing and study skills, and support them in achieving their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience:
- 1 year teaching undergraduate students in Communication Studies tutorials at Wilfrid Laurier University
- 6 months teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students in China, ages 5-16, with VIPkid
Tutoring Approach:
I approach all students with patience and a desire to understand their needs and ways of thinking. I am punctual, reliable, and friendly, and I want to make my students feel at ease.
Reviews from my ESL students' parents:
"Your smile makes the class friendly and relaxed, and Christine has a great time with you".
"The teacher has patient guidance", and "very timely correction of pronunciation".
