Personal Description:

I am an experienced native English speaking professional teacher of over 30 years. I have two degrees that I have earned from the University of Alberta, a world class institution. I have obtained a major in Mathematics and a minor in the Physical Sciences in a Bachelor of Science degree and have a Secondary Education Degree as a second degree earned . I am a certified Canadian Teacher who has taught many subjects and age groups over many years and enjoy teaching students to achieve their full potential.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught for over 20 years in a school designed to help those who had experienced disruptions in their educational experience and needed intensive help and remediation in order to succeed. Over the course of my teaching of 30 years I have helped every age group in the school system and have also had experiences teaching adult students and ESL students. I have my TEFL certificate for online learning and have tutored many students throughout my career.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to determine what strengths and weaknesses my students have and what type of learner they are. I then tailor a program of success for my students where I double check their understanding and provide valuable feedback on what is needed in order for them to obtain the skills they require. First I teach a concept, then I work through the concept together with the student. Lastly, I test to see whether the pupil has complete understanding of what they need for success.
