Personal Description:

I am a University Graduate with a young family, and a love of running and guitar. I am friendly and approachable.

Tutoring Experience:

I have six years of experience teaching children as an Early Childhood Educator. I received my ECE level II diploma in 2010, and returned to obtain a bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, which I completed with distinction earlier this year.

For the past four years I have been employed as an Education Assistant in the Community Services department of a major college, and serve primarily to assist in the education of adults who wish to work in early childhood, at-risk youth, or in disability.

My regular duties include tutoring, grading, and curriculum development, so I have a solid foundation in education.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in learning by doing. I take a relatively 'hands-off' approach, posing open-ended questions to help learners find the answers on their own, and honor their voice in their writing and work.
