Personal Description:

I have a passion for guiding students successfully through academic challenges. I greatly appreciate watching students develop pride in their work. I was a Teaching Fellow and have conducted first-year writing seminars. My focus is on helping students improve their oral and written communication skills. I was also a peer tutor in my undergraduate years.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in History and German and then went on to earn my master's degree in History. I enjoy being an English tutor and have extensive experience helping peers and students edit English essays. I also have experience tutoring AP English Language and Composition, Comparative Literature, English grammar and syntax, and the Reading, Verbal, and Writing & Language sections of the SAT.

Tutoring Approach:

I see learning as a shared endeavor between the student and tutor. When I first meet with a student, I like to be clear on what their goals are for each session and for the course or exam I am tutoring them for. I then help them develop their primary learning priorities based on their perception of where they struggle the most.
