Personal Description:

I enjoy working with students in a 1-on-1 setting. It allows me to provide a personalized approach that can cater to their individual needs and goals. My experience in composition, technical writing, and American literature courses allowed me to develop excellent skills as an English tutor. I can assist students as they create rough drafts of essays, offering feedback and constructive criticism. I am also well-versed in test prep.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and Magazine Journalism. I also earned a master's degree in English. I have 11 years of experience as a college-level teacher. I have worked with pre-GED level adults on ESL and ELL, as well as spent time as a freelance writer.

Tutoring Approach:

Students can make the most effective progress in learning if the material can be made interesting or connected to their personal life. I strive to find ways to make critical thinking, research, and other skills relevant to students, regardless of their academic goals. From the first session, I work alongside my pupil to design a plan that can keep them on the path towards their goals.
