Personal Description:

I'm a young and energetic English tutor who has worked with students in everything from elementary reading and writing to writing and editing college essays. I'm also proficient in helping students prepare for the English, Reading, Writing, and Language sections of standardized exams like the ACT, SAT, and others.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in English Literature and then went on to earn my master's degree in Teaching Secondary English/ Language Arts. I have expertise tutoring students in English as a Second Language. I have worked with gifted students and students who have ADHD.

Tutoring Approach:

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all teaching approach. Each student has their own learning style and it's essential to me that my lessons target that style. It's also important to me to help students strengthen their learning weaknesses. A first session with a student usually begins with some informal conversation and a general assessment of their abilities in the topic at hand.
