Personal Description:

Welcome! I am currently a high school English teacher who enjoys working one on one with students in order to develop reading and writing skills. I have plenty of experience with students of different levels with various learning styles. I am happy to work virtually or in person and am flexible with both the short or long term needs of students.

I am an IB (International Baccalaureate) trained teacher who currently teaches IB English, Grade 12 University English and grade 11/12 College English at Colonel By High School.

I have 15 years teaching with the Ottawa Carleton School District as an English teacher

I have experience as a Learning Support Teacher working with students who have special needs
I have experience as a Student Success Teacher supporting kids who are disengaged
I have tutored at home and abroad
I have worked as an ESL teacher (in Korea)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is student centered. I first consider the short term goals of the individual and then adapt curriculum to accomplish long term skill development. I enjoy being a support for students navigating English courses who are looking to build their skills and in turn achieve higher grades.
