Personal Description:

Queen's University MSc Graduate in Molecular Biology and Genetics Offering secondary and post-secondary tutoring in biology, chemistry, english, ESL and music.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a biologist with a bachelor of science and master's degree from Queen's University. I have 10 years of teaching experience at the secondary and university-level in genetics, molecular biology, ecology, population genetics and cell biology. I have taught lectures in the Biology Departments at Queen's University and the University of Ottawa, as well as working as a teaching assistant and facilitating laboratory experiments and tutorials.

I am also a certified ESL teacher with extensive experience teaching students at the Language Academy of Canada in Toronto. I am also a classically trained musician with my grade 10 in piano and grade 8 in flute from the Royal Conservatory. I have been teaching piano and flute privately for more than 10 years.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching methodology involves techniques to helping students to improve their grades: re-iterating information from lectures, how to prepare for exams and writing good lab reports. My post-secondary teaching experience makes me the ideal candidate to help struggling university students through the first few years of their bachelor of science degree. In addition to biology, I can provide coaching in biochemistry, chemistry and other elective science classes.
