Personal Description:

I would like to offer my expertise to students of all ages who feel they could benefit from additional academic support outside of a traditional classroom setting. I know that classroom teachers do their best to meet the academic needs of their students (I am one after all), but time constraints prevent us from providing all of the benefits of individualized instruction.

Tutoring Experience:

I am an experienced public school teacher who is currently teaching fifth grade, though I have firsthand experience working with students enrolled in grades 1-8. I also teach Saturday School and work as a private tutor after-school and during the summer.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that experience, discovery, and inquiry are essential to the learning process and make them my primary objective as a math tutor. I also encourage students to view mistakes and failure as opportunities for reflection and growth rather than as negative outcomes to be avoided at all costs.
