Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Katie, I am an Ontario Certified Teacher in the Toronto area. I have a double major in French and Environmental and Health Studies as well as a Bachelor of Education. I also have a specialist qualification in Teaching English Language Learners. I speak English and French and am very sensitive to the needs of all my learners, especially those who may be learning a second language.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching in middle schools for 3 years, and have 7 years of tutoring experience in English, Math and French. I have a wealth of experience with in-person and online tutoring and have become very creative in delivering distance education.

Tutoring Approach:

Before booking any sessions, I start with a complimentary phone call to speak about student's needs and goals for tutoring.

With my students, I always start with a diagnostic assessment to see where my student's strengths lie. From there, I build a program which is tailored to my students needs and takes into accounts their strengths, areas for improvements and interests. I regularly conference with students (and parents if applicable) to ensure that needs are being met and the student is progressing.
I enjoy incorporating games and videos into my lessons to support student learning and growth. I am always very flexible with my programming and able to change things up if the progress is not being made.
