Personal Description:

My name is Kathy and I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Education. I'm very passionate about working with students in various grades to enhance their understanding in math.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience in math for students in grades 1-12. Over the years, I have taught classrooms, small groups, and private tutoring sessions. I have been an Educational Assistant at the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) for over 7 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that all students are capable of performing well in math, but each student has a unique learning style. In my tutoring sessions with students, I aim to discover the student's learning style and take that approach in explaining topics. For example, some students understand concepts visually, while others benefit from a verbal discussion of topics.
