Personal Description:

I am a sixth- and eighth-grade math teacher. I am able to teach math skills and concepts to students of a wide range of ages and skill levels. I like being a math tutor because I enjoy helping students to learn a subject that they might have negative feelings about. I have knowledge of many different curricula and the testing requirements in a variety of places.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am also a State Certified teacher. I have a significant background in music education which influences my math instruction to include hands-on learning and movement.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach my work as a math tutor with a creative mindset. I incorporate techniques from my experience in music, and I encourage students to learn in ways that suit their unique needs and perspective. I often do a preliminary assessment to understand where a student's needs lie and devise a plan to address those needs.
