Personal Description:
I am a Computer Engineering graduate of McMaster University. I would describe myself as a well-rounded individual. As much as I excel in the academic field, I also really enjoy playing sports and staying active.
Throughout my years at McMaster, I've taken a variety of courses ranging from calculus to physics to computer programming. With mathematics being my core strength, I am well adept to helping others succeed in their respective courses.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been a math tutor for a total of 6 years now. I started out when I was in grade 12 as I used to volunteer as a "Math Senior Scholar". After high-school, I began tutoring privately.
Over the last 6 years, I've had over 20 students ranging from grades 9 through 12.
Tutoring Approach:
My standard approach begins by evaluating where the student is at. This is done by going over some review type questions which then allows myself to get an idea of the pace which I should be tutoring at.
A typical session of mine involves going over the student’s homework and answering any questions they might have. I also like to teach and go over some of the future lesson plans the student will be covering later that week, thus allowing them to get a head start on what’s to come.
I always make sure to communicate with the student to find out when they have their tests/quizzes to ensure the correct prep and review questions are gone over before they are evaluated.
