Personal Description:

I have over 10 years experience working with children in a variety of different capacities. Having a background in Social Service Work as well as personal experience has assisted in my tutoring because I can relate to the struggles they face and work with them in overcoming the challenge and succeeding in the area of learning.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 2 years experience with the Reading Rocks program run by the Learning Disabilities of Halton and am currently tutoring a student in reading, including the areas of phonics and reading fluency. I have 4 years experience as a Childcare Assistant with the YMCA, where I would often assist with homework and reading.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is I want to see what level the student is at and work from there. I have a very calm and patient demeanor and can use that approach to reassure the student that I'm there to help and want the best for them. I will often use worksheets or visual aids as to assist the student with the area they may be struggling in.
