Personal Description:

Every subject is interesting when presented by the right teacher, and it is my goal to be that teacher. The strategy I adopt depends on what type of learner I'm working with. Tactile and visual learners enjoy tools such as foldables and flashcards, so I'll use those to expand their Portuguese vocabulary. Aural learners may get more out of humorous stories or jokes that help illustrate grammatical rules, so I'll keep that in mind as their Portuguese tutor. I have found that many teenagers are competitive by nature, so challenging them to do something within a strict time limit helps them focus.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated college with a bachelor's degree in History, a course of study that allowed me to develop a better understanding of the culture around the Portuguese language.

Tutoring Approach:

Reading is like cooking in that it becomes more enjoyable and rewarding the more practice you get. I understand that learning a foreign language can seem impossible, but you can do it with the right supports in place.
